Easton grad and Arcadia University goalie Emily Griffith led her Arcadia squad to a season opening victory this week with 8 saves. Her efforst earned her the MAC Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Easton Grad Drew Griffith Named to 2021 All-MEC Team

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - In addition to the individual awards, the league also announced the All-MEC teams. Regular season champions Notre Dame and Frostburg State led the way with 10 and seven first-team honorees, respectively, followed by Charleston with six honorees. Glenville State placed three on the first team, UNC Pembroke, West Virginia State and Wheeling each had two first-team selections, and West Liberty and Concord had one each. Easton High Grad and Frostburg State senior Drew Griffith received Honorable Mention honors as a part of the 15 Bobcats named to the All-MEC Team. Drew is the son of former Easton coach and the color commentator of Overtime Live, Matt Griffith. Congrats Drew!

Salisbury Football Headed To NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – The 11th-ranked Salisbury University football team will begin its 12th run in the NCAA Tournament with a first-round matchup with the 17th-ranked Johns Hopkins Blue Jays. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 20 with kickoff at noon at Sea Gull Stadium.

KI Grad Bert Schrecongost was named the NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week

PITMAN, N.J. - Salisbury University senior kicker Bert Schrecongost was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Salisbury's 38-7 win over William Paterson in the regular-season finale. Schrecongost hit a 44-yard field goal and was a perfect 5-for-5 in extra points. The 44-yard boot was a career-long. Schrecongost kicked off seven times for 400 yards with three touchbacks and a fair catch. It is the fourth time that Schrecongost was recognized as the top special teams player in the NJAC this season.

Washington College Set Record with 481 Target Hits

Manassas, Va. - The Washington College Trap and Skeet squad participated in the Eastern Regional Championships this past weekend. The event, which was hosted by George Mason University, included teams from West Point, University of Delaware, University of Virginia, Radford, and Virginia Tech. The teams attempted 100 Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clay targets for both individual and team honors.
